Live music, open mic and pool nights
Live acts play the ocean-view deck every Sunday from 15:00 to 18:00, open mic runs every Thursday from 18:00 to 22:00, and Friday is pool and darts from 18:00. Entry is free unless a show is ticketed.
Where to find us
We are on the hillside above Wilderness Beach on the Garden Route, walkable from Wilderness village, roughly 15 km east of George and 20 km west of Sedgefield on the N2. Parking is free, and it is about a two minute walk down to the sand.

What time does the kitchen open at Beach House Bar and Kitchen?
The wood-fired oven runs from 11:00 daily, which is when pizza starts coming out. Bar and kitchen service beyond that shifts with the season and the day, and our Sunday live music runs 15:00 to 18:00 with Thursday open mic from 18:00 to 22:00. If you are travelling specifically to eat with us, send a quick WhatsApp to 071 495 1814 and we will tell you exactly what is running that day.
Do you take bookings or reservations for a table?
No, the Bar and Kitchen is walk-in only and we do not hold tables. On a busy evening, and especially on a Sunday when there is live music, arrive before sunset if you want a seat on the deck. On quieter weeknights you can usually wander in late and still find a spot. Accommodation is a separate thing and it does get booked in advance.
Are there vegetarian options on the menu?
Yes, and they are on the menu above rather than a special request. The Garlic and Herb Focaccia is vegetarian, and the Veggie Burger comes with hummus. There is also a Falafel Platter with hummus, baba ghanoush and focaccia, a Greek Salad, and hummus or baba ghanoush as sides. Pizzas are built from a topping list, so a vegetarian three topping pizza is straightforward. For any other dietary requirement, ask at the bar.
Can I bring my dog, and is there parking?
Friendly dogs are welcome on the deck, which is the part of the property most people eat on anyway. Parking is free, with on-site space that is limited and street parking that is usually easy except on a busy Saturday evening. We are about 100 metres from Wilderness Beach, so plenty of people walk up from the sand rather than drive.
Where can I stay if I am eating at Beach House?
You can stay on the same property. Beach House Wilderness Backpackers is the accommodation side of the same business, so your room is a short walk from the bar. There are ocean-view dorm beds, private rooms with shared bathrooms, en-suite rooms and garden tents. Rates change with the season, so check the live availability rather than relying on a number you read somewhere else.
